Ms. Siripen Rattansomboonchai is a committed professional with interdisciplinary expertise in materials engineering, biomedical innovation, and international academic collaboration. With substantial experience in both public and private sector initiatives, the focus of professional contributions has been on advancing medical technology, promoting research translation, and supporting global partnerships in higher education. Currently serving as an Administrative Officer at the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), responsibilities include coordinating international conferences, executive board meetings, and academic development programs. Additional duties encompass committee support in the areas of internationalization, quality assurance, and innovation incubation; managing databases and institutional records; facilitating membership processes; and overseeing communication and engagement strategies to enhance the visibility and impact of AUAP initiatives.

Prior to this role, served as Projects Coordinator at the Center of Excellence in Biomechanics Medicine, Suranaree University of Technology, from 2018 to 2024. Key responsibilities included managing interdisciplinary research projects, facilitating collaboration between academic and industry stakeholders, and organizing training workshops and outreach activities. Emphasis was placed on promoting the commercialization of research aligned with national strategic goals, particularly under the Thailand 4.0 policy framework.
Extensive experience has been gained through participation in multiple government-supported research and academic service projects, such as:
 

  • Project assistance for a biomechanics-based healthcare innovation program for elderly care, aligned with the Thailand 4.0 national development strategy
  • Project coordination and executive support for training programs on ISO 17025:2017 requirements
  • < Coordination of a multi-phase initiative for the design and development of prosthetic knee joints tailored for Thai patients, in collaboration with national health and life sciences agencies
  • Project management of a research initiative to develop and evaluate prosthetic knee joints for commercialization

Administrative leadership of a startup-oriented research project on the development of a non-invasive breath-based blood glucose monitoring device for diabetic patients, supported by the
TED Youth Startup Program


Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Ceramic Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Innovation Engineering from Suranaree University of Technology. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Engineering at the same institution, with research interests focused on biomedical materials, sensor technologies,and healthcare innovation.
Professional development includes completion of internationally recognized training in:

  • ISO 13485: Quality Management Systems for Medical Devices
  • ISO 14971: Risk Management for Medical Devices
  • Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP): Ethical and scientific standards for clinical trials


Recognition has been received through selection for competitive innovation development programs such as the SiBB Global Connect Life Science Innovation Bootcamp and the Business Brotherhood startup acceleration initiative, which provided specialized training in business model design, market entry, and early-stage funding for healthcare technologies.
