It is my great pleasure to welcome the members, partners and distinguished guests of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific to Hungary at John von Neumann University.
Hosting the annual AUAP Conference is an honour, but for us it is also a meaningful step in our international strategy. As a young and dynamically developing university, we see our role not only in providing education and research, but increasingly in facilitating scientific exchange and enabling cooperation across continents. Europe’s academic landscape benefits greatly from new bridges, new dialogues, and new forms of knowledge transfer and we believe that Central Europe, and the Carpathian Basin in particular, can serve as a new point of these interactions.
The AUAP community embodies exactly this spirit. Your members represent regions that are shaping the future of technology, economy and culture. By convening in Kecskemét, you create an opportunity for our students, researchers, and institutional partners to engage with global perspectives, while also allowing our region to share what it has to offer in return.
We hope this conference will strenghthen our collective capacity for collaboration, create new research partnerships, and contribute to a more connected academic world. A new circumstances one in which ideas travel more freely, and where institutions do not merely adapt to change, but improve it.
On behalf of John von Neumann University, I wish you a productive, inspiring and memorable time in Hungary. We look forward to welcoming you in May.

President
John von Neumann University
It is my pleasure to welcome the AUAP family to John von Neumann University and to our city of Kecskemét.
International cooperation has become a strategic imperative for universities worldwide not only as a direction to higher academic visibility, but as a fundament for shared knowledge, mutual learning, and new forms of scholarly innovation. Over the past years, our university has consciously and consistently expanded its international relations, seeking opportunities to connect with institutions across continents and disciplines. The AUAP community represents precisely the kind of global network in which we aspire to participate more actively.
We attach particular importance to the presence of colleagues and students from Asia and the Pacific, regions whose universities play an increasingly determining role in global knowledge production. For our faculty, this conference offers access to new research perspectives and academic partnerships; for our institution, it strengthens our ability to appear and perform successfully on international rankings and competitive platforms.
Let's highlight that AUAP opens the world to our students.
We believe that higher education cannot remain confined within national borders. Students must have the opportunity to encounter new cultures, engage in joint learning, and understand academic life as a space of mobility and exchange. We extend a warm invitation to students from abroad to discover Kecskemét and to consider John von Neumann University as their European study destination. At the same time, we encourage our own students to embrace their role as hosts and intermediaries helping to build bridges that will serve them throughout their careers and lives.
On behalf of our academic community, I wish you an inspiring conference, and we look forward to the discussions, collaborations and friendships that will follow.
