Dr. Yhings Sawheny
Director of International Affairs, Siam University, Thailand

Dr. Yhing Sawheny (Sonia) is the Deputy Director for International Affairs and a Lecturer of English, International Marketing and Leadership subject at Siam University, Thailand. She is currently teaching both Bachelor and Master program International students at Siam University. She has vast experience of 15 years of International affairs department, and has RECORD BREAKING admission of more than 1,000 International students from Nepal, India, Myanmar, Finland, Germany and other parts of the world. In 2006, she had also held the position as the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) Executive officer association organized by UNESCO and Siam University. This career had given the chance and advancement to attend numerous seminars and workshop in different parts of the world around 45 countries within 15 years of work experience. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctoral Degree under Management with Royal Thai Government Scholarship from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Within the young age, 21, she had graduated with First class honors under the International MBA program in Marketing. She is also the part of the Editorial Board member for ACADEME- the Academic Journal of Higher Education and Leadership. She had numerous Higher Education articles published for International Association of Universities (IAU) Horizons. The year 2013, she had attended the 18th World Association of Cooperative Education (WACE) conference at Durban, South Africa, and she presented her research work under the plenary session with President Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University, the topic under “Business University Forum and the Economic Community: Building a Sustainable Platform for Cooperative Education”. Additionally in 2014, she had presented the country paper of Thailand at the ASAIHL conference (The Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning) in Montpellier, France under the theme “Enhancing European and Asian Academic Systems Compatibility”. With all these opportunities and career advancement in her life, she has great communication skills with friendly nature, humble, jolly and cheerful personality. She is fluent with four languages, English, Thai, Hindi and Punjabi, and is a good learner with great personal and communication skill.
